Traci Nelson began her career in July of 1995 with the West Virginia Petroleum Marketers (WVPMA) and West Virginia Association of Convenience Stores (WVACS) as administrative assistant. On January 1, 1996, the WV Retail Grocers merged with the two previous groups and created the WV Oil Marketers and Grocers Association, Inc. (OMEGA WV). Nelson continued in that role as OMEGA took over management of the West Virginia Trucking Association (WVTA) in 2006, the West Virginia Wholesalers Association (WVWA) in 2013 and the Big I West Virginia in 2014. In 2017, after the death of her predecessor, Nelson was named president of OMEGA and WVTA, Executive Director of the WVWA and CEO of BIWV. Since that time, Nelson has overseen the expansion of the management company to include lobbying services provided to various organizations. In addition to providing membership services to OMEGA members and management and lobbying services to several organizations, Nelson oversees several annual campaigns to raise money for the Children’s Home Society of West Virginia, Make-A-Wish and OMEGA and WVWA sponsored scholarships programs.
